About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant/Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical accounting skills, a deep understanding of payroll and accounts payable processes, and comfort working with large datasets in Excel. You’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing rent and lease schedules, and supporting operational reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the monthly close process for key areas including payroll, leases, and accruals.
- Maintain and reconcile rent and lease schedules, ensuring compliance with ASC 842.
- Support payroll accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Assist with accounts payable oversight—working cross-functionally to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Perform financial analysis and reporting using advanced Excel models; assist with variance analysis and forecasting.
- Support preparation of internal management reports and external audit requests.
- Partner with FP&A and operations teams to support data-driven decision-making.
Education and Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA-track a plus).
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in healthcare, multi-site, or high-growth environments.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP; lease accounting and payroll experience preferred.
- Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, nested formulas, etc.); experience with accounting systems such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or QuickBooks a plus.
- Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred but not Required:
- Experience working with statistical accounts and multi-entity consolidations.
- Familiarity with payroll providers (e.g., Gusto, ADP) and A/P automation tools (e.g., Bill.com, Tipalti).
