Freight Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Freight Coordinator will be responsible for managing and monitoring all incoming and outgoing shipments. This includes coordinating with freight forwarders, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation, preparing shipping documents, and keeping track of all deliveries. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and has strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage both domestic and international shipments to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for freight forwarders, vendors, and internal warehouse teams, facilitating smooth logistics operations.
  • Prepare, verify, and maintain all necessary shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), commercial invoices, and customs forms, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor and track shipments throughout the transportation process, providing real-time updates to relevant internal departments.
  • Analyze freight costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising service quality.
  • Address and resolve issues related to shipment delays, damages, or claims, ensuring prompt and effective solutions.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all shipping activities and documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
  • Ensure full compliance with domestic and international shipping laws, regulations, and company policies related to trade and logistics.

Education and Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in logistics, freight coordination, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or any related discipline.
  • Solid understanding of shipping procedures, Incoterms, and customs documentation for both domestic and international freight.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in logistics and freight tracking software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Strong negotiation skills to manage freight costs and vendor relationships.
  • Highly organized, able to multitask, and perform effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
