Job Summary:
As a Financial Reporting Analyst, you’ll dive into data analysis to uncover trends and ensure financial accuracy. You’ll assist in preparing reports, perform account reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies. Your role will be crucial in supporting compliance efforts and ensuring adherence to financial regulations. You’ll also collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to address financial matters and maintain accurate transactions, making a meaningful impact on the organization’s financial health!
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze financial data in-depth to spot trends, patterns, and potential issues, offering actionable insights to improve overall financial performance.
- Monitor financial transactions to ensure they are accurate and aligned with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the creation of precise and timely financial reports, including month-end and year-end closings, ensuring that all financial data is recorded and reported correctly.
Compliance & Regulation Support:
- Help ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, internal controls, and company standards.
- Stay informed on the latest changes in financial regulations and industry best practices to keep processes up-to-date.
- Participate in audits, ensuring financial practices are fully aligned with regulatory guidelines.
Account Reconciliation & Issue Resolution:
- Carry out thorough account reconciliations to pinpoint and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate closely with accounting and finance teams to maintain accurate and consistent account balances.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring all accounts are balanced and accurate.
Vendor & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Communicate directly with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders to address any financial concerns or questions.
- Ensure that vendors adhere to agreed-upon financial terms, payment schedules, and contractual obligations.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to streamline and enhance financial processes and workflows.
- Propose improvements to financial systems and reporting practices to boost efficiency, compliance, and transparency.
Education and Skill Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience in financial reporting and analysis within a business setting.
- In-depth understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques, and reporting standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheets, and ERP systems, with a preference for experience using QuickBooks.
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities to efficiently meet deadlines, especially when processing payments or handling month-end tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to resolve issues efficiently with vendors, clients, team members, and management.
- Collaborative team player who works well across departments to achieve organizational goals.
- A high standard of professionalism and integrity, ensuring confidentiality and ethical conduct in all financial dealings.
- Problem-solving mindset, able to identify potential financial challenges and proactively suggest solutions.
