Bookkeeper

Job Summary:

As a Bookkeeping Clerk, you’ll play a vital role in managing and tracking expenses across global locations, ensuring every transaction is accurately recorded and aligned with company policies. You’ll be responsible for entering credit card expenses into QuickBooks, keeping a close eye on expenditures, and creating detailed reports to keep budgets in check. You’ll also handle monthly bank reconciliations, support the month-end closing process, and prepare financial reports for management. Key Responsibilities:

Expense & Data Management:

  • Track and record expenses across global locations, ensuring accurate categorization and input into QuickBooks.
  • Monitor expenditures and generate reports to ensure budget compliance while identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Suggest improvements to financial processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.

Transaction Entry & Reconciliation:

  • Accurately record all financial transactions, including income, payments, and expenses, in QuickBooks.
  • Reconcile accounts to ensure transactions are categorized correctly and discrepancies are resolved promptly.

Bank Reconciliation & Month-End Closing:

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Support month-end closing by ensuring all transactions are recorded and reconciled and assist in preparing financial reports for management.

Client Communication:

  • Respond to client inquiries regarding financial records and invoices, offering professional support and timely solutions.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication to foster positive client relationships.

Education and Skill Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related financial role, with a strong grasp of financial record-keeping.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks is preferred, though training is available for qualified candidates.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting practices, including expense tracking, account reconciliations, and general ledger management.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions and categorizing expenses.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly when engaging with clients about financial inquiries and records.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines, particularly during critical periods such as month-end close and bank reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software, with the ability to prepare comprehensive financial reports and summaries.
  • A proactive approach to spotting cost-saving opportunities and assisting with effective budget management.
  • A commitment to maintaining financial integrity and improving overall accounting processes.
