Senior Accountant

Job Summary:

We’re on the lookout for a meticulous and proactive Senior Accountant to join our organization! In this influential role, you will play a crucial part in overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations for various clients. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy & timeliness of financial transactions, financial reporting, and compliance with US GAAP. This role requires a very strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments within the company, and across a growing base of clients externally this position would support. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the monthly close process through preparation & review of journal entries, perform account & bank reconciliations, and develop necessary supporting schedules
  • Drive the preparation of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement)
  • Oversee & maintain the general ledger ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately & timely
  • Develop & maintain fixed asset schedules, prepaid amortization schedules, and accruals
  • Manage the accuracy & productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing / billing, payroll, and other general accounting functions
  • Continuously evaluate & implement improvements to accounting processes and systems for increased efficiency
  • Support audit processes by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Participate in FP&A activities to analyze variances and support actual vs. budget reporting
  • Assist management with other ad hoc financial reporting and projects, as needed

Education and Skill Requirements:

Required (Need to have):

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office / Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in and performing reconciliation exercises
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Preferred (Nice to have):

  • Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) is a plus
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks / other ERP systems
  • Experience working with US-based companies
  • Experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A) / budgeting & forecasting activities
  • Working onsite
  • Night shift
