Job Summary:
As an Insurance CSR Assistant, your role is to provide customer service for personal and commercial insurance lines, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and explaining product details. It includes reviewing and processing insurance applications, renewals, and endorsements to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service & Communication: Answers inquiries, resolve issues, and explain product details for both personal and commercial insurance lines. You’re essentially the point of contact for customers and other stakeholders (e.g., brokers, insurance agents). Handling numerous email inquiries and providing timely, accurate responses to customers. Resolving customer issues or concerns through email communication.
- Policy Management: Reviews and evaluates insurance applications, quotations, renewals, and endorsements to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines of insurance policies. This includes processing paperwork like policies, binders, certificates, and endorsements.
- Billing & Payments: Managing payment requests, issuing invoices, processing policy cancellations, tracking payments, and providing support with financial documentation.
- Claims & Loss Management: Handles commercial property insurance claims, analyze severity of loss incurred, and coordinating with the necessary parties (borrowers, insurance agents, etc.) to ensure claims are processed efficiently.
- Collaboration: Serves as a resource for your team, plus help supervisors with additional tasks as needed. Interact with internal departments as needed to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to insurance.
Education and Skill Requirements:
- High Scholl Diploma or equivalent training
- Experience in working for a personal and/or commercial insurance company preferred.
- Demonstrate technical competence and the ability to read and understand comprehensive documents like coverage forms.
- Possess a high level of proficiency using multiple software relating to insurance to serve high volume of accounts preferred.
- Proficient Microsoft Office Suite
- Writes well and creatively
- Well organized and prompt with communications
- A self-starter who works well independently
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
